Associate Professor Susan O'Brian is a speech pathologist and researcher affiliated with the Australian Stuttering Research Centre (ASRC) at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). She holds a position in the Faculty of Health and specializes in stuttering research, clinical practice, and program development. Her work focuses on stuttering measurement, internet-based treatments (e.g., the Camperdown Program), and the Lidcombe Program for early intervention. She is a founding member of the Camperdown Program Trainers Consortium and has presented workshops globally.
Her research spans clinical translation of stuttering interventions, cost-benefit analysis of stuttering treatment, and neurodevelopmental underpinnings of stuttering. She has contributed to over 100 journal articles and book chapters. Key grants include NHMRC-funded projects on internet anxiety treatments and randomized trials for stuttering interventions.
