Susan Morrow is Assistant Professor in Princeton University's Department of German, currently on academic leave for 2024-25. Her research investigates epistemic dimensions of performance practices, movement theory, and their intersections with philosophical discourse from the 18th century to present.
She is completing a monograph tracing Immanuel Kant's schematism theory to poetic and movement techniques in 18th-century German literature and ballet. Her secondary research examines political implications of movement practices in Expressionist performance under authoritarian regimes.
Previously a postdoctoral fellow at Universität Potsdam and Leibniz Center for Literary Research Berlin, she received the 2019 Carlo Barck Prize for outstanding dissertation work in cultural theory.
