Susan McGregor

Susan McGregor is a Research Fellow at Columbia University's Data Science Institute, where she co-chairs the Center for Data, Media & Society. She has extensive experience bridging academic research with practical journalism applications, with a focus on digital security and information integrity.

Her research interests include:

• Security and privacy issues affecting media organizations
• Cryptographic content provenance for digital text
• Peer support systems for journalists and educators
• Interface design for online platform authenticity
• Data science education accessibility

McGregor's research has received significant funding from the National Science Foundation, Knight Foundation, Google, and Columbia University departments. Her work demonstrates strong interdisciplinary connections between computer science, journalism, and education.
