Susan Guyer

M. Susan Guyer serves as Dean of the School of Physical Education, Performance and Sport Leadership and Professor of Athletic Training at Springfield College. She holds a Doctor of Physical Education (2003) and a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training (1988) from Springfield College, along with a Master of Science in Athletic Training (1990) from Old Dominion University.

Guyer has received multiple accolades, including the NATA Service Award, NATA Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award, and the Gail Weldon Award of Excellence for her professional service. She has also been honored with the R. William Cheney Award and the Springfield College Teaching Excellence Award, culminating in her recognition as the Distinguished Springfield Professor of Humanics.

Her teaching portfolio includes courses on Prevention of Athletic Injuries, Research Methods and Education, Athletic Injury Rehabilitation and Therapeutic Exercise, and Human Anatomy. Guyer is a certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) with advanced credentials in Graston Techniques, Functional Movement Screening (FMS), and Strength and Conditioning (CSCS).
