Dr. Susan Douglas is an Assistant Professor of Art History at the University of Guelph's School of Fine Art and Music. Her expertise spans modern and contemporary Latin American art, digital art history, cultural heritage, museums, and visual communication. She teaches contemporary art history and theory, specializing in Latin American artists and cultural practices.
Dr. Douglas’s research includes curatorial projects such as the first Canadian exhibition of Gustavo Romano’s work and the online exhibition 'MOBLOG:ENTER.' She has published in journals like Canadian Art, University of Toronto Quarterly, and Art Papers, and authored a book on Canadian visual culture. She has also co-edited an anthology on bodily fluids in art history.
Her professional engagements include lectures at institutions such as the Art Gallery of Ontario, The Power Plant (Toronto), and universities in Argentina, including the Universidad de Buenos Aires and Universidad de Cuyo.
Dr. Douglas’s lab is located in Johnston Hall, Room 111. Her work bridges academic research, curation, and public engagement with contemporary art and cultural theory.
