Susan Castagnetto serves as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at Scripps College. She chairs the Intercollegiate Feminist Center and coordinates the Intercollegiate Women's Studies program at the Claremont Colleges.
- Education: B.A. from University of Santa Clara (1976), Ph.D. from Stanford University (1986)
Research Interests span feminist philosophy, ethics, and political activism. Her work focuses on:
- Transformative practices in criminal justice for incarcerated women
- Feminist epistemology and ethics
- Philosophical implications of free will and responsibility
- Scottish Enlightenment thought
- Feminist adoption issues and activism
Community Engagement includes coordinating the "Get on the Bus" project and collaborating with the Downtown Women's Center in Los Angeles. She teaches courses on feminism, ethics, criminal justice, and modern philosophy.
