Susan Caitlin Scranton

Susan Caitlin Scranton is a Lecturer in the Dance Department at Sarah Lawrence College (SLC), where she has been teaching undergraduate and graduate courses since 2023. As a New York City-based dancer, teacher, and producer, she has performed with renowned companies including the Lucinda Childs Dance Company, Mark Morris Dance Group, and the Metropolitan Opera Ballet, and co-founded the dance production organization The Blanket in 2015.

Scranton’s professional experience includes collaborations with choreographers like Annie B. Parson, Ramon Oller, and Christopher Williams, as well as international masterclass instruction. Her teaching focuses on ballet technique (Ballet I and II) and graduate-level MFA Dance courses. She has previously taught at the Taylor School, Gibney Dance Center, and Point Park University.

Her career spans performance in major productions such as Einstein on the Beach (2012 revival) and upcoming The Hours at the Metropolitan Opera. While her academic role centers on dance pedagogy and performance, her artistic work bridges theatrical productions and experimental choreography.
