Susan A. Crane is Associate Professor of Modern European History at the University of Arizona. Her scholarship examines historical consciousness through the lens of historical photographs and material culture. Publications include Collecting and Historical Consciousness in Early Nineteenth-Century Germany and the edited volume Museums and Memory.
Current book project ...And Then Nothing Happened: A Short History of Nothing explores conceptualizations of historical absence and non-events. Research interests span:
