Sunnee Billingsley is a Professor of Sociology at Stockholm University, affiliated with the Demographics Division (SUDA) within the Department of Sociology. She holds a Ph.D. in Political and Social Sciences from Pompeu Fabra University (2009).
Her research focuses on social demography, family sociology, and social stratification, examining how policies, social change, and economic contexts shape population dynamics and life chances. Current projects include studies on intensive parenting norms in Sweden, fertility trends in Nordic countries, and climate change impacts on maternal and child health in Eastern Europe/Central Asia.
Recent publications address armed conflict's effects on birthweight in Colombia, parenting attitudes' societal generalizability, and family dynamics' role in income inequality. Her work employs statistical analyses of register and survey data.
