Sung Min Kim is a Professor of Management and Department Chair at the Quinlan School of Business, Loyola University Chicago, where he also serves as Graduate Program Director for the Next Generation MBA. He holds a PhD in Strategic Management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has extensive experience in strategy consulting and academic leadership.
Education: PhD (Strategic Management) from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; MBA and BBA from Yonsei University, Seoul.
Research focuses on strategic management, entrepreneurship, international business, and organizational economics. Key interests include entrepreneurial judgment evolution, resource co-specialization, corporate adaptability, and social enterprise strategies. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with empirical studies, often exploring decision-making processes and institutional dynamics.
Publications span top journals such as Strategic Management Journal and Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, with over 20 refereed articles and book chapters. His research emphasizes cross-disciplinary insights into venture creation, international investments, and organizational resilience.
