Dr. Suncica Hadzidedic is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Durham University, affiliated with the Wolfson Research Institute for Health and Wellbeing and the Artificial Intelligence and Human Systems (AIHS) research group. She holds an FHEA status since 2022 and teaches courses on Recommender Systems and Business Analytics Project (Research Methods). Her research bridges computer science with healthcare, psychology, and design, with a focus on applications in mental health, wellbeing, cancer, and fashion.
Education: PhD in Computer Science (University of Warwick), MSc in IT Management (Binary University), BSc in Information Systems (University SSST/Bosnia and Herzegovina & University of Buckingham).
Research interests include recommender systems, digital health, responsible AI, human-computer interaction, affective computing, and machine learning. She developed PORT.org.ba, a cancer website with affect-aware recommendations, and leads projects like MoreLife UK KTP. Awards: FHEA (2022).
Supervises postgraduate students Tianyu Zhang and Zhifei Hu. Active in networks like EU COST Action VascAgeNet and the Alan Turing Institute’s Knowledge Graphs Interest Group.
