Sumit Agarwal

Sumit Agarwal is Low Tuck Kwong Distinguished Professor of Finance at NUS Business School with joint appointments in Economics and Real Estate. He serves as Managing Director of the Sustainable and Green Finance Institute and President of the Asian Bureau of Finance and Economic Research.

His research spans household finance, behavioral economics, real estate markets, and financial institutions. Agarwal has published extensively with over 125 research articles and authored books including the 'Kiasunomics' series on household financial management.

He regularly contributes to public discourse through Straits Times editorials and media appearances on CNBC, BBC, and Fox News. His work examines consumer financial decision-making, credit markets, and policy impacts on household welfare.

Research grants include FDIC-supported projects on banking information systems and studies on international financial behavior in Sweden, India, and China.
