Sumangali Wijetunge is a Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology at the Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, part of the School of Life Sciences, Pharmacy and Chemistry at Kingston University. She serves as Admissions Tutor and module leader for the Systems Pharmacology module (LS5010) at Level 5. Prior to joining Kingston University in December 2014, she spent over 20 years at Imperial College London as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Research Lecturer.

- PhD in Pharmacology from Imperial College London (1998)

Her research focuses on two primary areas:
- Cardiovascular disease mechanisms linked to lifestyle factors
- Pedagogical investigations into university student performance
Scientific contributions span pharmacology, physiology, and biomedical education. Publications in journals like Stroke and Microcirculation demonstrate cross-disciplinary impact in cardiovascular research and developmental medicine.
