معرفی
Professor Felicity Gavins is a Professor of Pharmacology and Royal Society Wolfson Fellow at Brunel University London, leading the Centre for Inflammation Research and Translational Medicine (CIRTM). She holds a BSc from the University of Sunderland and a PhD from Queen Mary University London, supported by the British Heart Foundation. Her research focuses on understanding immune cell interactions in vascular inflammation and thrombosis, particularly targeting the Annexin A1-Formyl Peptide Receptor pathway for novel therapies in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. She has secured major grants from the Royal Society, NIH, BHF, and AHA.
Research Interests
Her work spans inflammation resolution, thrombosis, sickle cell disease, and pre-clinical imaging. Key areas include neutrophil-platelet cross-talk, cerebrovascular dysfunction, and drug delivery systems. She employs advanced imaging techniques (confocal microscopy, MRI, PET) and multi-omics approaches to study vascular pathophysiology.
Grants & Collaborations
Funded projects include the Royal Society Wolfson Fellowship (2019-2025), NIH grants on cerebral microvasculature dysfunction, and collaborations with institutions like Harvard Medical School and Imperial College London. Her lab hosts international networks in immunopharmacology and translational medicine.
Teaching & Mentoring
She teaches advanced topics in pharmacology and mentors PhD students and early-career researchers. Current projects include resolving thromboinflammation in stroke and sickle cell disease, and developing non-mammalian models for thrombosis research.
