Dr. Sujatha Meegama is the Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Senior Lecturer in Buddhist Art History at The Courtauld Institute of Art. She holds a BA in Asian Studies from Temple University Japan, an MA in Japanese Studies from Stanford University, and a PhD in South Asian Art and Architecture from UC Berkeley. Her research focuses on Buddhist art patronage, Sri Lankan ivories, and informal shrines in modern Singapore. Prior to joining The Courtauld in 2022, she coordinated the Art History program at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
Her publications include the edited volume Sri Lanka: Connected Art Histories (Marg, 2017) and articles in Artibus Asiae and Archives of Asian Art. An upcoming book from the University of Hawai’i Press examines temple patronage in Sri Lanka. She has also contributed to museum education initiatives, reflecting her commitment to object-based teaching.
