Suhao Chen

Dr. Suhao Chen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at South Dakota Mines. He joined the institution in 2022 after completing his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Management from Oklahoma State University. His research and teaching focus on data science, healthcare analytics, and industrial engineering methodologies.

Research Expertise

Dr. Chen specializes in data science and engineering, with emphasis on predictive analytics through temporal modeling of longitudinal data, manipulation of real-world electronic health records, unsupervised learning (e.g., clustering), and information extraction using natural language processing models. He also applies expertise in optimization and supply chain analysis.
