Suhad Almuktar

Dr. Suhad Almuktar is a Lecturer at the School of Science, Engineering & Environment, University of Salford, affiliated with the Environmental Research Centre. She holds a PhD from the University of Salford (2013–2017) and specializes in sustainable civil engineering with a focus on water resource management.

Research Interests: Her work spans sustainable drainage systems, constructed wetlands for wastewater treatment, climate-resilient infrastructure, and integrated water resource management. She explores nature-based solutions for urban/rural environments and wastewater reuse in agriculture.

Publications: Her 15 most recent articles (2015–2024) emphasize wastewater recycling, phytoremediation, and hydrological modeling. Key themes include greywater treatment, wetland engineering, food safety in irrigated crops, and climate impacts on water systems.

Projects & Leadership: Dr. Almuktar managed the NERC-funded CAMELLIA project (2023–2025) and Horizon 2020’s WATERAGRI initiative (2020–2022), focusing on community water management and data strategy. She actively supervises student theses and contributes to editorial roles at MDPI Water.

Recognition: She has presented at over 18 international conferences and serves as a peer reviewer for journals including Journal of Cleaner Production and Journal of Environmental Management.
