Sue Ferguson is an Adjunct Professor of Feminist Theory and Social Reproduction Studies at the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Rutgers University, and holds Emerita status from Wilfrid Laurier University. She is also an Affiliated Researcher with the University of Houston's Comparative Cultural Studies Department. Ferguson's work critically examines intersections between capitalism, gender, race, and childhood through a Marxist lens. Her research revitalizes Social Reproduction Theory (SRT) to analyze how capitalist systems perpetuate social oppressions.
Education: Ph.D. in Political Science from York University, Toronto. Prior to academia, she was a senior writer at Canada’s Maclean’s magazine.

Current book project: Capitalist Childhoods, Anti-Capitalist Children explores childhood as a site of capitalist exploitation and potential for resistance. Her 2020 book Women and Work has been widely translated.
