Sue Ellen Davis is a retired lecturer at Texas A&M University’s English Language Institute, where she specialized in enabling international students to master English composition, vocabulary, and American customs. A third-generation Aggie, she holds a BA from Baylor University and a Master’s degree from Texas A&M. She has extensive teaching experience at both secondary and post-secondary levels.
Her professional affiliations include membership in TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) in higher education. Beyond academia, she has been deeply involved in civic and community organizations: she served as VIPS Coordinator and PTSO President in Bryan ISD, President of the Junior League of Bryan-College Station, and active member of the Woman’s Club of Bryan. She has contributed to Habitat for Humanity home-building projects in Bryan-College Station and Guatemala, and supports initiatives like Save Our Streets, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Girl Scouts. She is also engaged with Alexander United Methodist Church through various committees.
Her family includes husband Fred Davis (Texas A&M ’71), children Thomas Webb Davis and Nancy Diana Miller (Texas A&M ’07), a son-in-law, and a granddaughter.
