Sudipto Das

Dr. Sudipto Das is a Senior Lecturer at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences, within the Department of Molecular and Cellular Therapeutics. He holds a PhD in Cancer Genetics from RCSI (2012) and has held academic positions including Honorary Lecturer (2017-2019) and StAR Research Lecturer (2019). His research focuses on epigenetics, genomics, and their applications in cancer, inflammatory bowel diseases, and heart failure. He leads the Epigenetics in Gastrointestinal Research Group, aiming to identify biomarkers and therapeutic targets.

Dr. Das's education includes a B.Tech in Biotechnology (2007) from Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, a M.Res in Biomedical Sciences (2008) from the University of Glasgow, and a PhD in Cancer Genetics (2012) from RCSI. He has held post-doctoral roles as a Senior Post-doctoral Researcher (2015-2019) and Principal Investigator (2018-2023). He has secured funding from organizations like the Irish Cancer Society, British Heart Foundation, and Japan Society for Promotion of Science.

His research interests include epigenetic modifications, non-coding RNAs, and multi-omic approaches to disease biomarkers. He teaches Pharmacology, Neuropharmacology, and Molecular Pathology at RCSI, Trinity College Dublin, and University College Cork. He is a member of professional organizations including the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation and the American Association for Cancer Research.

Key achievements include the Irish Cancer Society Fellowship and over 40 peer-reviewed publications in journals like Cancer Research and Nature Communications. His work emphasizes translational research to improve patient care through personalized medicine and precision oncology.
