Dr. Sudip Chakraborty is a researcher at the University of Calabria's Department of Computer Engineering, Modeling, Electronics and Systems, affiliated with the Laboratory of Transport Phenomena and Biotechnology. He holds a Doctorate in Chemical Engineering from Italy and is qualified as a Full Professor (Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale - ING-IND 24). His research focuses on membrane separation technologies, plasmonic nanoparticles, and composite materials for environmental remediation, energy systems, and process intensification.
Education: PhD in Chemical Engineering (Italy), postdoctoral visits at MIT and UCLA. Research interests include fouling mechanisms in membranes, pore morphology effects, and photocatalytic processes. He has authored over 150 SCI-indexed publications, edited books, and serves on editorial boards of journals like Groundwater for Sustainable Development and Earth Systems and Environment.
Publications emphasize sustainable water treatment, nanocomposite materials, and supply chain sustainability. Recent works address zinc oxide nanoparticle-based water remediation, graphene quantum dots for antibacterial applications, and photocatalytic membrane reactor designs. Awards include national academic qualifications and editorial leadership roles.
He leads research groups in transport phenomena and biotechnology, focusing on food and biofuel production from waste, mathematical modeling of processes, and multi-scale programming. Collaborations span international projects, with labs dedicated to interdepartmental research and innovation.
