Sudip Bhattacharjee

Sudip Bhattacharjee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil & Mechanical Engineering and Construction Management at Alabama A&M University, part of the College of Engineering, Technology, and Physical Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (2005) and MSc from Indian Institute of Science (2001). His research focuses on transportation infrastructure resilience, pavement reliability, material characterization, and energy harvesting materials. He has authored over 15 peer-reviewed publications and serves on ASCE, NSF review panels, and university committees.

Research interests include climate change impact on pavements, probabilistic pavement design, viscoelastic material modeling, and integrating smart materials for energy harvesting. His work bridges civil engineering with advanced material science, emphasizing mechanistic-empirical analysis and uncertainty quantification.

Teaching focuses on Transportation Engineering, Pavement Design, and Reliability Engineering. He has held faculty positions since 2006, progressing from Assistant to Associate Professor at AAMU, with prior research experience at the University of New Hampshire.
