Sudha Srinivasan is an Assistant Professor in the Physical Therapy Program at the University of Connecticut, leading the REINVENT PT Lab. Her research focuses on developmental trajectories in individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities like Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Cerebral Palsy, and Down syndrome across their lifespan.
- Studied physical activity disparities in young adults with ASD
- Developed creative play-based interventions using music, dance, and yoga
- Created open-source Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) tools
- Investigated early powered mobility interventions for children with mobility limitations
Her work combines assistive technology, multisystem interventions, and developmental neuroscience to address cascading effects of motor difficulties on social communication and cognitive development. She has secured an InCHIP faculty seed grant for her research on autism and physical activity.
Scientific awards include multiple UConn scholarships, graduate fellowships, and academic distinctions from her physiotherapy education in India. She has presented internationally on topics ranging from robotic therapies to inclusive communication design.
