Subhrangsu Sarkar

Subhrangsu Sarkar is a Research Fellow in the Department of Physics at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. His research focuses on condensed matter physics, nanomaterials science, and advanced materials characterization techniques. He investigates phenomena such as charge density waves, orbital ordering, and superconductivity in heterostructures, as well as laser-driven plasma interactions and nanoscale magnetism.

His work explores interface physics in cuprate-manganite systems, nanocrystalline thin films for optoelectronics, and size-dependent magnetic properties of impurities in metals. He also studies ultrashort laser interactions with nanostructured targets, contributing to advancements in ion acceleration and plasma physics.

Sarkar holds a postdoctoral position within the Department of Physics and is affiliated with the Faculty of Science and Medicine. His research integrates experimental and theoretical approaches to understand electronic, magnetic, and structural properties at the nanoscale.
