معرفی
Stéphanie Baumberger is Professor of Green Chemistry at AgroParisTech, part of Paris-Saclay University, and head of the Apsynth research team at the Jean-Pierre Bourgin Institute (IJPB - Univ. Paris-Saclay, INRAE, AgroParisTech). A specialist in lignins and plant polymers, she develops integrated approaches to agricultural resources valorization with a focus on structure-function relationships of biopolymers.
Her research interests include:
- Green Chemistry and Sustainable Materials Development
- Biorefinery Processes and Agricultural Waste Transformation
- Lignin Structure and Properties Analysis
- Natural Antioxidants Production using Ionic Liquids
Professor Baumberger's research combines fundamental scientific knowledge with practical applications, as demonstrated by her coordination of the European ZELCOR project (2016) involving 17 partners to transform biorefinery waste into high-value bioproducts for plastics, cosmetics, and chemical industries. Her work utilizes advanced analytical tools including NMR, mass spectrometry, and modeling to elucidate molecular mechanisms of lignin depolymerization.
Her scientific recognition includes:
- Stars of Europe trophy (2021) as coordinator of ZELCOR project
- Roberval Prize finalist (2020) for coordinating 'Green Chemistry and the Agri-Food Industry'
Professor Baumberger strongly believes in interdisciplinary collaboration, breaking down barriers between scientific disciplines, academic-industrial partnerships, and intercultural education. She coordinates the Erasmus Mundus Bioceb master's program, providing international mobility for students in bioeconomy, and has incorporated innovative teaching methods including theater workshops into her scientific curriculum.
