Peter Deuss

Prof. Dr. Peter Deuss is an Associate Professor at the University of Groningen's Engineering and Technology Institute Groningen (ENTEG), part of the Faculty of Science and Engineering. His work focuses on catalytic processing of sustainable resources like lignocellulosic biomass and mixed plastic waste to produce bio-based chemicals and fuels. He leads research on lignin valorization, carbon circularity, and chemical plastic recycling, emphasizing integrated catalytic processes that combine separation and conversion steps.

Research Interests: Developing catalytic technologies for renewable resource conversion, including lignin depolymerization, plastic recycling, and biomass fractionation. Key methods involve mild organosolv extraction, hydrotreatment, and advanced characterization techniques.
