Stuart Wilks-Heeg is a Professor of Politics at the University of Liverpool, where he joined in 2002 as a Lecturer in Social Policy and was promoted to Professor in 2022. He moved to the Department of Politics in 2014 and served as Head of Department from 2014-17. As a leading expert on the UK democratic process, his expertise spans electoral administration, registration, fraud, integrity, boundary changes, election finance, voting behavior, and local government. He served as Executive Director of Democratic Audit (2009-12) and as a specialist adviser to the House of Lords Select Committee on the Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013.

Teaching: Stuart co-ordinates and teaches modules including British Politics II, UK General Elections and Referendums since 1945, and supervises research projects and dissertations.
