Stuart Jones is a Professor of Intellectual History at the University of Manchester, affiliated with the Department of History (L5). He previously held roles as Head of History (2000-2003) and Associate Dean for Postgraduate Research in the Faculty of Humanities (2017-2020). His research focuses on modern intellectual history, political thought, and the history of universities, with a specialization in 19th-century France and Britain. Jones has authored/co-edited five books, including an upcoming biography of James Bryce. He has supervised 21 PhD students and held prestigious fellowships such as the Leverhulme Major Research Fellowship (2020-2023).
