معرفی
Dr. Stuart Campbell is a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Yale University, leading the Integrative Cardiac Biomechanics Lab. His work bridges computational and experimental approaches to study genetic heart diseases, focusing on multi-scale models integrating genomic, functional, and anatomical data. He develops high-throughput instrumentation to characterize cardiac cells and improve therapeutic strategies.
Education: B.S. from Washington State University and Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego. His research emphasizes understanding mechanisms behind hypertrophic/dilated cardiomyopathy and arrhythmogenic conditions, leveraging tissue engineering and in vitro models.
Key interests include cardiac biomechanics, myofilament dynamics, and engineered heart tissues. His lab explores therapies targeting sarcomere dysfunction, with recent work on Tropomyosin mutations and mitochondrial protein regulation.
- Awards: NSF CAREER Award (2017), Stewart Whitman Award (2011), American Heart Association Fellowships (2008-2012)
- Grants: Focus on computational modeling, engineered tissues, and genetic heart disease mechanisms.
His lab’s work spans from molecular mechanisms to organ-level modeling, with applications in drug development and precision medicine.
