Stuart Bowden is a Visiting Policy Fellow at the Oxford Internet Institute (OII), University of Oxford, where he researches how Web3 technologies and communities influence consumer and citizen decision-making, as well as the role of artifacts in displaying status and membership. He concurrently leads global strategy and product teams at Wavemaker, a top media and communications planning firm, advising major brands like L’Oréal, Danone, Netflix, and TikTok on customer engagement strategies. With 25 years in advertising, he has held roles as a copywriter, client strategist, and technology brand consultant for companies such as Apple, Microsoft, and Oracle. His expertise spans behavioral economics, government communications (including a decade with Public Health England), and digital ethics.
Stuart is pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in AI for Business at the Said Business School, Oxford, reflecting his focus on AI’s applications in business and governance. His professional affiliations include IPA Behavioural Economics Steering Group, Cannes Lion Jury, and committees for the Account Planning Group. He has advised national politicians and contributed to debates on the ethical implications of AI and representation in advertising.
