معرفی
Professor Stuart A. Nicklin is a Professor of Cardiovascular Molecular Therapy and Dean of Postgraduate Research at the University of Glasgow's School of Cardiovascular & Metabolic Health. His research focuses on novel therapeutic approaches in cardiovascular disease, including gene therapy and the counter-regulatory renin-angiotensin system. He leads studies on myocardial infarction, hypertension, and vascular injury, with a particular interest in translational applications. He holds editorial roles in journals like Cardiovascular Research and is involved in the British Society for Gene and Cell Therapy.
Research interests span gene therapy vectors, cardiovascular remodelling, and angiotensin axis modulation. Recent work includes studies on Runx1's role in heart failure and optimizing murine models for HFpEF. His articles highlight therapeutic strategies, viral vector advancements, and molecular mechanisms in cardiovascular disease.
Grants and collaborations include BHF and MRC funding, with contributions to the BHF Centre of Research Excellence. His editorial and board roles reflect his leadership in cardiovascular science.
