Dr Laura Denby is an Affiliate at the University of Glasgow's School of Cardiovascular & Metabolic Health. Her research focuses on gene therapy, vascular biology, renal disease, microRNA mechanisms, and hypertension. She has contributed extensively to understanding molecular pathways in kidney and cardiovascular diseases.
Her recent publications highlight roles of microRNAs (e.g., miR-214, miR-29) in renal fibrosis and hypertension, along with innovations in adenovirus vector engineering for targeted gene delivery. She explores interactions between coagulation factors and viral vectors, phosphate toxicity in vascular function, and angiotensin pathways in fibrosis prevention.
Dr Denby's work spans interdisciplinary fields including Nephrology, Cardiovascular Science, and Molecular Medicine. She investigates gene delivery systems, microRNA biomarkers, and pharmacological interventions for hypertension and kidney disease. Her current projects emphasize vascular-targeted therapies and RNA-based disease mechanisms.
