Steye Verhoeve is a PhD Candidate and Researcher in Physical Geography at Utrecht University's Geosciences department. Their research focuses on drought recovery dynamics using remote sensing and spatio-temporal modeling. They investigate how vegetation recovers post-drought conditions globally through satellite data analysis.
Education: BSc in Environmental Sciences, MSc in Earth Surface and Water (specializing in natural hazards and earth observation). Former roles include Junior Researcher and Lecturer in Earth Sciences courses like fieldwork preparation, remote sensing, and statistical analysis.
Key research interests include land degradation, vegetation resilience, and adaptive water management. They contribute to the NWO-funded 'Recover' project, developing models to forecast drought duration and recovery. Teaching involvement spans multiple bachelor's and master's programs in Earth Sciences.
