Stevie Neuman

Dr. Stevie Neuman is Associate Professor and holder of the Tax Excellence Professorship in the Department of Accountancy at the University of Missouri. She earned her Ph.D. in Accounting from Texas A&M University. Her research examines corporate tax planning strategies, their impact on financial reporting quality, investor assessments of firm value, and audit reporting frameworks.

Research foci include:

• Tax avoidance volatility and corporate tax risk management
• Effects of auditor-provided tax services on information environments
• Financial reporting consequences of tax planning decisions
• Investor interpretation of tax-related disclosures

Publications appear in leading accounting journals including Contemporary Accounting Research and Journal of the American Taxation Association. She serves on editorial boards and reviews for major accounting journals. Teaches introductory taxation courses to undergraduate students.
