Milda Tylaite is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Accounting at Stockholm School of Economics (SSE), serving as Deputy Program Director for the MSc in Accounting, Valuation, and Financial Management. She is affiliated with the Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets. Her research focuses on corporate financial reporting, taxation, audit, and governance, particularly in private firms. She holds a PhD from SSE (2018) and has received awards including the Wallander Scholarship (2019) and pedagogical awards for curriculum redesign.
Teaching includes courses like Current Issues in Financial Reporting (Course Director) and MSc Thesis supervision. Research highlights include analyzing audit quality impacts of client bankruptcies, executive bankruptcy history effects on firm risk, and the role of auditing in tax avoidance. Grants include funding from Nordic Tax Research Council and Mistra Center.
Publications address topics such as accounting standard choices in private firms, auditor conservatism post-bankruptcy, and the link between executive tax behavior and corporate tax strategies.
