Steven Smith

Steven Smith is a Professor in the Department of Biomedical and Molecular Sciences at the School of Medicine, Queen's University. He serves as Associate Dean (Research) and Vice-Principal Research Portfolio, contributing to Administration & Governance. His research program focuses on structural biology, biophysical methods, and molecular determinants of macromolecular complexes.

• Education: BSc in Biochemistry (University of Western Ontario), PhD (University of Western Ontario)

His research connects structural biology with biochemistry, targeting enzyme complexes, cellulosome organization, and E2A transcription factor interactions in lymphopoiesis and leukemia. He has held leadership roles including Director of the Queen’s Protein Function Discovery Group and Chair of the Undergraduate Biochemistry Program.
