Steven Scyphers

Steven Scyphers is an Associate Professor and Director of the Center for Socio-Environmental Resiliency at the University of South Alabama's Stokes School of Marine & Environmental Sciences. He holds a PhD from the University of South Alabama.

His research examines coastal development, fisheries management, and climate adaptation through a social-ecological systems lens. Current projects include studies on mangrove-seawall trade-offs, reef fisheries extension, coastal resilience planning, and fishery adaptive capacity.

Teaching includes: Environment and Society, Marine Resource Management. His work integrates collaborative science approaches with coastal communities facing environmental challenges.
