Steven Schmidt is an Associate Professor of Medical Psychology and Group Leader at Applied Gerontology, Lund University. He serves as Coordinator at the Center for Ageing and Supportive Environments (CASE) and Study Coordinator at the Swedish National Graduate School on Ageing and Health (SWEAH). His research investigates the interplay between environment, health/function, and psychosocial factors in aging populations, employing public health analysis, clinical trials, epidemiology, and health economic modeling through interdisciplinary collaborations.

His recent publications focus on smart home technologies, stroke rehabilitation environments, and mental health service users' experiences, reflecting trends in aging research, assistive technology, and interdisciplinary public health. He received the LMK Foundation's Medicine Prize 2020.
