معرفی
Steven Mansoorabadi is an Associate Professor at Auburn University's Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. His research focuses on structural and functional genomics, cofactor biosynthesis, and enzymology, with particular emphasis on tetrapyrrole metabolism. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Texas at Austin.
His laboratory integrates bioinformatics, biochemical, and biophysical approaches to study novel biosynthetic pathways. Key projects include coenzyme F430 biosynthesis in methanogenic archaea, heme d₁ maturation in Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and dinoflagellate luciferin synthesis. Recent work has explored molecular mechanisms underlying enzyme catalysis, circadian-regulated bioluminescence, and post-translational modifications in methanogenic enzymes.
Publications highlight contributions to understanding radical S-adenosylmethionine enzymes, heme oxygenases, and computational modeling of protein modifications. His work bridges fundamental enzymology with practical applications in biofuel production and antibiotic development.
