Steven Malcolmson is Associate Professor of Chemistry at Duke University. His lab develops novel catalytic methods for synthesizing nitrogen-containing molecules and bioactive compounds, focusing on enantioselective transformations, diene hydrofunctionalization, and stereochemical control. Malcolmson received his PhD from Boston College and completed postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School.
Current NIH/NIGMS-funded research (2022-2027) explores catalytic strategies for nitrogen-containing molecules, while NSF collaborations develop hyperpolarization methods for chemical analysis. His work has been recognized in Nature Chemistry and JACS, covering topics from palladium-catalyzed alkenylamination to chiral allene synthesis.
