Steven Mackey is the William Shubael Conant Professor of Music and Director of Graduate Studies (Composition) at Princeton University's Department of Music. He is a prominent composer, performer, and educator known for integrating electric guitar and vernacular music influences into classical composition. Born in 1956, he holds a B.A. from UC Davis, M.A. from SUNY Stony Brook, and a PhD from Brandeis University.
