Steven Keith Platt

Steven Keith Platt is an Executive Lecturer and Director of Analytics at Loyola University Chicago's Quinlan School of Business, leading the Lab for Applied Artificial Intelligence and the AI Business Consortium. He holds roles as Loyola Site Director for the Institute for Data, Econometrics, Algorithms, and Learning (IDEAL). His research focuses on analytics and AI applications in business, retail, and healthcare, with expertise in AI ethics, regulatory compliance, and model risk management. Platt teaches courses in applied AI and statistics, emphasizing technology integration into academic curricula.

Education: B.S.B.A. in Finance and Marketing, J.D., and LL.M. in Tax from Boston University. He previously served as Research Director at Northwestern University’s Retail Analytics Council, managing AI and robotics initiatives. Platt has consulted major firms like AT&T, Kroger, and Microsoft, and his work has been featured in Bloomberg, MIT Technology Review, and The Wall Street Journal.

Leadership roles include organizing high-profile conferences like the AI in Financial Services Industry series and IDEAL workshops on Human-AI ecosystems. He holds three patents related to media content interfaces and co-founded Black Kids Predict, an outreach program for underrepresented students in data science.

Awarded a National Science Foundation grant (2024-2026) for applied AI research. Platt’s work bridges academic research with industry applications, addressing regulatory challenges and fostering innovation in AI-driven solutions.
