Dr. Mary E. Malliaris is a Professor and Department Chair of Information Systems and Supply Chain Management at Loyola University Chicago’s Quinlan School of Business. She holds a PhD in Research Methodology from Loyola University Chicago, an MS in Mathematics from Northwestern University, and a BS in Mathematics from Louisiana State University.
Her research focuses on data mining, database management systems, neural networks in financial forecasting, and healthcare informatics. She has authored numerous articles in prestigious journals such as the Journal of Risk and Financial Management, Annals of Operations Research, and Neural Networks in Finance and Investing. Her work often integrates advanced analytical techniques to address complex financial and economic questions.
Dr. Malliaris has been recognized for her teaching excellence, earning accolades as Outstanding Faculty Member in both the Graduate and Undergraduate Programs at Quinlan. She has held leadership roles including Associate Dean, Director of Graduate Admissions, and Director of the Undergraduate Honors Program. Currently, she serves as the production editor for The Journal of Economic Asymmetries and reviews for multiple academic journals and publishers.
Her recent research explores themes such as housing market dynamics, Eurozone economic stability, and the role of sentiment analysis in education. She has collaborated on projects like developing a Business Data Analytics Graduate Certificate and frameworks for entity extraction in research datasets.
