His food security research addresses shelf-stable manufacturing in Northern Australia, demonstrating applied solutions for regional value capture and waste reduction.
His research impact is evidenced by best paper awards at international conferences and keynote speaking invitations, reflecting policy influence and academic recognition.
Greenland has supervised PhD students using mixed-methods approaches in diverse markets. Current projects include Barriers to innovation and technology adoption in 3D-metal printing and NT Shelf-stable Food Products Market Opportunity Analysis under the NAFTI Project, securing CDU-led regional funding.
He actively collaborates through Charles Darwin University's Northern Australia Food Technology Innovation initiative, driving partnerships across the Asia-Pacific to address food security challenges through sustainable manufacturing.
