Dr. Steven Gormley is Senior Lecturer at the University of Essex's School of Philosophical, Historical, and Interdisciplinary Studies. He holds a BA in English and Philosophy from the University of Kent, an MA in Continental Philosophy from Warwick University, and a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Essex.
His research explores continental philosophy, deconstruction, and democratic theory. Academic interests include deliberative democracy, justice theories, and the intersection of deconstructive philosophy with political theory.
He previously held a two-year research fellowship in Philosophy at Essex before assuming his current position. Office hours are variable (see office door).
