Steven Decoster is a part-time Lecturer in Geography and the Core program at Redeemer University. He obtained an M.Sc. in Bio-Engineering Sciences (1993) and a teaching degree (1995) from Ghent University, Belgium.
His research focuses on the application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing in agriculture, particularly monitoring agricultural practices using Sentinel-2 satellite imagery. He previously taught geography in Belgium for 20 years and co-authored the Geo/Geoscoop textbook series used in Flanders.
Steven resides in Hamilton with his wife Debbie, pastor of Little Bethel Community Church, and their two children. His interests include exploring Canada, nature, soccer, disc golf, and music.
