Marie Good is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Redeemer University, where she has worked since 2014. Her research focuses on spiritual and religious development in adolescents and emerging adults, particularly the differential impacts of spirituality and religiosity on psychosocial adjustment, risk-taking, and mental health. She also investigates religion’s effects on self-control and the cognitive and neural mechanisms underlying well-being.

Her work spans journals like Developmental Psychology, Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience, and Religion, Brain, and Behavior, often collaborating with researchers from Brock University, University of Guelph, and University of Toronto. She has explored topics such as non-suicidal self-injury functions, violent video games and aggression, and depression-risk behavior associations. Her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Toronto Social Neuroscience Lab examined cognitive and neural mechanisms linking religiosity to reduced adolescent alcohol use.
