Margaret Somerville is a Professor and Senior Fellow in Research with fellowships at the Royal Society of Canada and Royal Society of New South Wales. She provides high-level consulting services to governments, NGOs, UN agencies, and private corporations globally.
Her groundbreaking contributions have been recognized through numerous honors:
- Order of Australia
- Eight honorary doctorates
- First recipient of UNESCO's Avicenna Prize for Ethics in Science (2003)
- Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for higher education (2013)
