Steven D. Kalb is an award-winning Broadcast Journalism Instructor-in-Residence at the University of Connecticut, where he has taught since 2003 in the Department of Journalism. His career bridges decades of field experience with dedicated academic instruction.
His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts Cum Laude from Charter Oak State College.
Kalb specializes in practical broadcast journalism training, emphasizing real-world news reporting ethics, television/radio production, and community-focused storytelling. His pedagogy draws directly from 35+ years covering major events like the Mianus River Bridge collapse and high-profile trials including Michael Skakel's murder case, fostering critical questioning skills essential for modern journalism.
