Steven Cok

Steven Cok is an Assistant Professor in the Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Food Science Department at Framingham State University (FSU), where he teaches Biochemistry courses including CHEM 301, CHEM 332, and CHEM 832. Prior to joining FSU, he spent 12 years at Washington University in St. Louis conducting research on gene expression regulation mechanisms.

Dr. Cok's educational background includes:

• B.S. in Biochemistry from Michigan State University
• Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Chicago

His research focuses on molecular mechanisms of gene expression regulation, particularly investigating how biologically active molecules like dietary polyphenolic compounds alter genetic activity. This work integrates biochemical analysis with nutritional science to explore food-derived molecules' health impacts, spanning molecular biology techniques and food composition studies.
